There is a myth in our community that name suppression in a sexual abuse case is to protect the identity of the victim. Reality is that is an excuse that allows some, a selected few, to have their identity hidden. When was it decided that being an ex-All Black means you hit a child and have your identity hidden. Another child no longer safe.
